On St David's Day the largest Welsh Cake in the World was made and consumed in Bala. The Welsh Cake was over 21 kg in weight and approximately 5 ft in diameter. The Bala & Penllyn Tourism Association will be submitting the attempt to "Guiness World Records". St David's Day was a fantastic day out for visitors and locals with Bala High Street buzzing with the many activities offered form story telling for children to the internationally known local choir Côr Godre'r Aran. Funds were raised for local charities and good causes.
